They fought a close final against FaZe Clan.

This past weekend saw the Intel Extreme Masters Oakland CS:GO tournament take place in California, and after the 12 teams fought it out over the course of the event, Ninjas in Pyjamas stood atop the pile with the trophy and $129,000 USD to their name.

Ninjas in Pyjamas actually advanced at the top of Group A, with a record of 4-1, sitting just above Cloud9 and SK with 3-2 records. Astralis was actually knocked out of this group surprisingly, as were G2 Esports in Group B, where FaZe Clan, Gambit, and OpTic Gaming progressed.

After defeating OpTic Gaming, SK then came up against Ninjas in Pyjamas, who defeated the Brazilians 2-1 to advance into the final, where FaZe were waiting for them after a victory against Cloud9. Despite a close fought battle, NiP held on against the on-form FaZe to win 3-2 and retain their title.

Did you expect NiP to win?
