IEM Oakland this past weekend hosted the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Invitational, and among the many teams included it was open qualifier team aAa Gaming who took home the trophy and the $60,000 USD grand prize.
The tournament saw eight games take place over two days, and although aAa came out on top, teams like Digital Chaos also did really well, repeating a victory in Game 7. Game 8, however, ended with Cloud9 and Ronin Esports battling it out, although this didn't affect aAa whose consistent placings ensured they stayed in first place.
This follows on from Gamescom's Invitational, and was just as successful as an esport event. Do you think there could be more in the future?
