The StarSeries Season 4 CS:GO competition just took place this past weekend in Kiev, Ukraine, seeing 16 teams fight it out for $300,000 USD in prize money, and it was Mousesports who walked away with the grand prize, this being their first significant victory since they claimed first place at the ESG Tour Mykonos competition last year.

FaZe Clan and G2 Esports started the group stages with the best form, both on three wins and zero losses, but Mousesports' losses against G2 and Team Liquid meant they qualified slightly lower. Still, they got into playoff positions to face G2 Esports once again in the quarter finals, except this time back to back wins on Inferno and Mirage saw them through to the semis.

After G2 Mousesports had to take on Team Liquid yet again, and once more Mousesports got their revenge, winning 16-9 on Train to see them through after the score was 1-1 going into the final map. This then set them up with a grand final against Natus Vincere, who had beaten Astralis and FaZe Clan to get their spot, and despite Na'Vi getting an early map lead, this was soon to be reversed by a tense 22-18 Mousesports overtime victory on Mirage, and then a final deciding victory on Train.

Mousesports walk away with $130,000 USD as a result of their victory, which should give them confidence moving forward. Did you expect Mousesports to win the whole thing?
