Nintendo launches Nintendo Versus UK Twitter account

Highlighting their competitive efforts in the UK.

If you've ever watched our Weekly Esports Round-up with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar you'll know we talk about Nintendo's commitment to esports a lot, and how it's gradually growing with tournaments for games like Arms and Splatoon 2, and now we have some good news on that front, as the company has set up an official Twitter account called Nintendo Versus UK that's all about competition.

"Welcome to @NintendoVSUK! Whether you're partial to friendly fisticuffs with friends or have your eyes set on grand stage competition, follow us for UK updates on competitive Nintendo games and events," the pinned tweet reads, so it seems as if this is for all levels of competition in the UK, be it grassroots or the big guns.

So far what's on there includes the Arms Party Crash, but there's also tweets about the UK's representation at the Splatoon 2 European Championship, which if you didn't know is happening at the end of next month, so there's a mix of light competition and traditional esports.

This isn't the first competitive Twitter for Nintendo games, as there is a global Nintendo Versus account already, but it's good to see the UK getting some attention, especially since it can often be neglected in the world of esports.
