There have been a lot of question marks over the CS:GO team for French esports organisation G2 Esports, with public disputes between previous team members making things a lot more confused, but now G2 has finally unveiled its new roster for the Season 5 finals of the Esports Championship Series (ECS), featuring a return for Richard 'Shox' Papillon.

Joining Shox - who will be playing his first match since wrist surgery at ECS - will be Kenny 'KennyS' Schrub; Kevin 'Ex6TenZ' Droolans (who's a stand-in for these finals); former coach Edouard 'SmithZz' Dubourdeaux; and Alexandre 'bodyy' Pianaro, meaning both Nathan 'NBK' Schmitt and Dan 'apEX' Madesclaire are on the bench. "We are in close contact with both players and have agreed to explore opportunities for potential new offers for each of them," G2 adds.

"This new composition with the return of Shox and SmithZz and the addition of Ex6TenZ as stand-in, but also as team captain for this tournament, marks a new step in our decision-making process and I am excited to start working with all of them in London this weekend."

"In the meantime, apEX and NBK have joined the bench and I really want to thank them for the work produced and the energy deployed throughout the past few months. I would like to take this opportunity to point out the great professionalism shown by all of our players since the beginning of this process as our decisions were always made with the acceptance of all of them. A new step but not yet a conclusion, we are planning to announce our long term prospects before ESL One Cologne," commented Team Coach and Manager, Jérôme 'NiaK' Sudries.

You can watch G2 in action this weekend as the play in the ECS in London. Do you think the roster change is a good one though?
