Eleague has revealed a partnership with EA to host several FIFA 19 competitions, kicking off with the Eleague FUT Champions Cup from February 22 to 24 at their arena in Atlanta. This is one of the six Major licensed events in the FIFA Global Series, and will be a worldwide open competition in which 64 of the best players compete for valuable tournament points and a $100,000 USD prize pool.

Other licensed qualifiers will be held during March and May, leading up to the Global Series Playoffs in June. This in turn will lead competitors to the 2019 FIFA eWorld cup which will be held in July/August this year. Details surrounding the other Global series qualifiers will be announced in the coming months and information regarding signing up to compete can be found on the FIFA eWorld Cup site.

During its history Eleague has aligned with several popular titles such as CS:GO - where they have hosted two Major Championships - as well as other huge titles such as Overwatch and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Craig Barry, EVP & Chief Content Officer at Turner Sports, said: "EA Sports FIFA is one of the most popular, critically-acclaimed video games on a global scale and we're thrilled to align with them in this exciting partnership. This will provide some unique crossover opportunities for Eleague as we continue to expand and further diversify its strategic partnerships to present premium esports content experiences and drive engagement across all platforms".

Todd Sitrin, SVP and GM of the EA competitive gaming division, added: "Eleague is a fantastic viewership platform for competitive FIFA and accelerates the mainstream esports and sports connection thanks to the power of Turner Sports. This partnership with Eleague is perfect given EA Sports FIFA's global reach, its instant accessibility for spectators, and the millions of FIFA competitive gaming players that are participating in the global series".

Those interested in watching the Global Series can catch the live event coverage on Eleague's Twitch channel and B/R Live - Turner's live sports streaming service. Additionally, Eleague will capture the best tournament moments for a series to air on TBS following the event.
