Report: Kroenke Esports & Entertainment buying Echo Fox's LCS slot

Riot revealed that Echo Fox is indeed trying to sell its spot, but ESPN reports that it's the LA Gladiators owner looking to buy.

Riot Games has revealed that League of Legends Championship Series team Echo Fox has submitted a proposal to sell its slot in the competition, with Riot now reviewing the sale and meeting with "the proposed ownership group" soon.

This announcement didn't say who this was, but a new ESPN report claims that this is none other than Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, owners of the LA Gladiators Overwatch League side. They've reportedly agreed to a deal that will see them take the slot for $30.25 million USD, according to alleged sources and pending Riot's approval.

Back in May Riot told Echo Fox they'd have 60 days to remove minority owner Amit Raizada following reports of racist language being used by him, and after this transfer of the LCS spot Echo Fox will allegedly pay the rest of their $10 million franchise fee owed to Riot (of which they've already paid $5 million) over the next few years.

We'll have to wait until official announcements come in to confirm whether this is true or not, but would this be a good move for the LCS?
