DreamHack pulls the plug on the last of its 2020 events

Major events, such as DreamHack Winter have now been pushed back to 2021 due to Covid-19.

Any hope of attending a DreamHack festival in 2020 has now been shattered as the tournament organiser has announced that it will be pushing back all its events until 2021. This was, of course, an expected move with the world in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it is still unfortunate to see major events such as these erased from the gaming calendar.

The events affected include DreamHack Rotterdam, DreamHack Hyderabad, DreamHack Atlanta, DreamHack Winter, and DreamHack Madrid. These postponed events were due to take place between October and December, and follow the delays of DreamHack Dallas, DreamHack Montreal, and DreamHack Summer earlier in the year.

"The goal for all of us at DreamHack is to provide great experiences at our events, which thrive by bringing communities together for these shared and beloved festival weekends all around the globe," said DreamHack Co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. "We have never had to postpone events like this before — but these are extraordinary times, and the safety of our attendees and staff has never been more important than now."

The release issued by the organiser states that details of the 2021 schedule will appear here once revealed.
