Commander Zavala heeft een nieuwe stem.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News, today I'm going to be rounding out the week by talking about one of my favourite games of all time, with that being Destiny 2. Now Destiny 2, we're going to be talking more about it probably in a few weeks time when the big showcase happens and we get to see more about the final shape, the final expansion in the Light and Darkness saga. But for the time being, the reason why we're talking about this game is because Bungie has unveiled who will be replacing the late Lance Reddick as the voice of Commander Zavala, and it is actually a Bungie veteran, so with that being the case, let's crack on. Lance Reddick is being replaced by Keith David in Destiny 2, Zavala is getting a new voice in the final shape. It's been five months since we learned that Lance Reddick has passed away, this led to many players gathering around Commander Zavala, a character he voiced in Destiny 2. He should be able to return to Bungie's game to hear his voice for the foreseeable future, but the character's new lines will sound different. Bungie has revealed that Lance Reddick will be replaced by Keith David as Commander Zavala when Destiny 2, the final shape launches next year. Interestingly, Reddick's already existing lines will remain untouched for the upcoming release, so Zavala will have a different voice depending on whether you're enjoying old or new content in the game. A very respectful and heartwarming decision, it'll be fascinating to hear the fans' reaction too. What do you think about the replacement and solution?
So yeah, it's kind of interesting that they're doing this. We'll see how Keith David fits the role of Commander Zavala. For those unaware as to what he's done formerly as a Bungie member, or as we say, working on Bungie games, Keith David was formerly the Arbiter in, I believe, Halo 3. So, you know, he has experience working with Bungie and voicing characters in video games, so it's going to be interesting to see how he approaches and brings to life Commander Zavala, which is a really iconic character, one that's been around in the Destiny universe since its very inception, basically like 10 years ago at this point. But yeah, as Eric puts it, don't expect this to be Keith David re-recording all of Lance Reddick's lines from the past or anything like that. The things that Lance has already recorded before he passed away, they're all staying in the game. They're going to be used as well in the final shape. There's just going to be a bit of a mismatch between the way that Zavala sounds between Lance's lines and Keith's lines as well, which I think is quite a nice way to do things. Yeah, it's going to sound a little bit unusual here and there to see Zavala's voice changing a little bit here and there, but I think it's the way to do it, especially considering Lance was such a huge part of this series, huge part of this game, and is still beloved by fans for what he did with the character of Zavala over the years. But yeah, full steam ahead to seeing Keith David take over the role."
"Will Zavala be around for the next generation of Destiny? We don't know. We don't know what's going to happen in the final shape. Maybe Zavala will meet his unfortunate end in the final shape, and Keith David's only here to just tie up the character. We don't know.
We'll find out soon as we lead up to this, the full reveal of this expansion, then it's launched likely in the at the start of 2024. But yeah, that's all the time we have on today's episode of GRTV News. It's been a quick one, but it's a nice one to wrap up the week with."
"So hope you enjoy the rest of your Friday. Hope you enjoy your weekend, and we'll see you all on the next one. Take care, everyone.
