2022 Pokémon Unite Championship will conclude in London

The year will boast a $1 million prize pool.
Ben Lyons Senior Editor 11 februari 2022

The Pokémon Company has revealed a bunch of details about the 2022 Pokémon Unite Championship Series, including that it will feature a $1 million prize pool, and that the World Championship will be taking place in London, with that event set to boast a $500,000 prize pool.

We're told that the event will see teams of five players competing against one another, and that the full year will feature a range of open qualifiers (with the first being February 19-20) every month between February and June, and that entry will not cost anything at all. The series will be played on both Nintendo Switch and on mobile.

The tournament will be played in seven regional zones, including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Japan, South America, North America, Oceania, and South Korea, with each regional qualifier followed by a monthly finals. Players will earn Championship Points based on their performance in every tournament, with the best teams with the most points advancing to the World Championship at the end of the year.

Take a look at how the prize pool is allocated and also a deeper look into the format in the 2022 Championship Series blog post here.
