Riot has recently announced the hosts for the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational on the esports section of their site. For the first time ever, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be hosts of a major global event, and 2019 will be the first year that Taipei hosts a mid-season invitational (MSI). The play-in and group stages will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively, whereas the semi-finals and finals will be held in Taipei.

Taipei itself has a long history with League that dates back to 2012 when the Taipei Assassins claimed the World Championship and took the Summoner's Cup. Ever since, there has been increased focus on furthering the competitive structure of the region which recently saw the launch of the Vietnam Championship Series back in 2018.

The MSI is a global League tournament in which 13 regions send their most recent split champion to fight against other regional winners for the title of 'MSI Champion'. The 2019 MSI will kick off on May 1 and wrap up with finals on May 19, with a full calendar below. Tickets will be open for purchase in mid-March and information regarding venues will be announced around the same time.
