Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been very popular since its release last year, it's safe to say, and it seems this has translated into esports popularity as well, since the signup numbers for Evo 2019 - the biggest fighting game event in the world - has broken records.
These numbers were revealed by Evo president Joey Cuellar, and as reported by Dot Esports Ultimate's 3,492 entrants for this year's competition was 35% higher than last year's first-place entry, Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Behind Smash Bros. we have Street Fighter V with 1,929, Tekken 7 with 1,885, the new Samurai Shodown with 1,719, and Mortal Kombat 11 with 1,566, although we can expect to see Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6, and more at the tournament.
