Esports drive-in arenas look to be a thing of the future

At least, in the US for now.
Kieran Harris 22 juli 2020

Esports may be set to adopt a retro flare, as it has been revealed Horizon Property Group has partnered with esports data company Harena Data to open several esports drive-in arenas in the US. The drive-ins are planned to open in areas, such as Louisville, Ky, Gettysburg, Pa, and El Paso and Laredo in Tx, and will show other content as well as esports.

James Harris, Managing Director at Horizon Property Group, said: "Horizon is committed to innovation, to its retailers, and to the communities we serve. These drive-ins are a new and updated, albeit retro, component of centers, that give shoppers added reason to visit their local retailers and are a fun entertainment offering to the community. To top it off we know this exciting attraction will have safety as a priority."

Hopefully, these drive-in areas prove popular in the US so that they can inspire implementation in other parts of the world, such as Europe and Asia.

Do you think this is a promising concept?

Thanks, EsportsBets.
