G2 Esports win the Valorant Red Bull Home Ground

G2 knocked out Team Liquid, netting a reasonable £10,000 prize pool.

The Valorant Champions Tour may have started its open qualifiers, but that hasn't stopped other events from taking place in the competitive Valorant scene. Over the weekend, the Red Bull Home Ground tournament concluded seeing G2 Esports take home the victory and a relatively small £10,000 cash prize.

The event itself saw eight competitors including; Guild Esports, Team Liquid and Ninjas In Pyjamas slug it out for a shot at glory. Over the course of the event, G2 alongside Team Liquid seemed to be the teams to beat, as they looked dominant in the matches all the way up to the finals that saw the two face-off. After a close final match that went down to the wire however, G2 managed to come out on top of Team Liquid in a 3-2 series, netting the win and claiming the prize money.

G2 Esports has proven to be a capable team in the European Valorant scene, winning multiple A and B tier tournaments over the last few months. We'll have to see if they can translate this success into the Champions Tour.
