Elevate disbands its women's Rainbow Six Siege team, signs an Academy roster

The main roster will remain unchanged.
Ben Lyons Senior Editor 30 april 2021

Elevate has decided to make two pretty big decisions regarding its position in the Rainbow Six: Siege esports scene. Not only has the organisation decided to drop its women's team, but it has announced the signing of an academy team.

It's hard to tell whether one decision affected the other here, but considering there was around four hours between the two announcements, there is a correlation in the timings.

The main roster for Elevate will not be seeing any changes and will remain as the organisation's primary competitor. While Elevate did recently win the APAC League 2021 Playoffs - Stage 1, the team did not manage to qualify for the Six Invitational 2021 that will be taking place in a few weeks in Paris, France.

As for what will happen to the members of the Elevate women's roster, that remains unclear. Hopefully a few will be picked up by different organisations over the next few weeks.
