Guangzhou Charge announce changes to its coaching staff

Neko is out and ExtrA is in.
Ben Lyons Senior Editor 9 juni 2021

The Guangzhou Charge Overwatch League team has announced a few changes to its coaching staff, following a start to the 2021 season that sees the team with a 2-6 record, and the second worst record in the East region.

In the hopes of saving this season, the team has announced that it has parted ways with Se-hyeon "Neko" Park, and has promoted Jiawen "ExtrA" Zheng to the position of assistant coach.

The statement accompanying the coaching change stated, "After May Melee, we wanted to leverage our existing coaching staff in the short term while starting a head coach search. For this June Joust cycle, we have been trialling ExtrA and former assistant coach Neko as our interim coaching staff. We saw enough improvement in the team that we will be promoting ExtrA to assistant coach position."

The team hasn't yet found a head coach, and the search is currently continuing. The post does state that the Charge "will have more to share" as progress continues.
