If you're a fan of competitive fighting games then you no doubt have been keeping tabs on Genesis 8, which took place over the weekend. The tournament included a variety of different categories, including Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and even included a singles and doubles bracket for both.

As for the winners of these Smash events, we now know this. For Super Smash Bros. Melee it was Zain Naghmi who took the singles event (and the $23,280 cash prize). As for the doubles however, it was Masaya "aMSa" Chikamoto and Justin "Plup" McGrath that came out as victors.

As for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the winner who took home the almost $30,000 cash prize was Leonardo "MkLeo" Lopez Perez. Leo almost managed to also take the doubles tournament as well, but came up just short in the finals, with Santiago "Chag" Perez and Edgar "Sparg0" Valdez winning this in the end.

The event did also include a Super Smash Bros. 64 tournament and a Rivals of Aether event, which saw "Shihman" win the singles and doubles (alongside "Moustasher") for Smash, and CakeAssault crowned as the victor for Rivals of Aether.
