Riot Games has announced that it has completed a deal with Santander, a deal that will see the bank becoming the League of Legends European Championship's (LEC) official banking partner.

Revealed in a blog post, we're told that the deal will last for the rest of 2022 and beyond, but as for how far beyond, that remains a mystery, as it's simply known as a multi-year deal. What we do know is that Santander will be sponsoring the LEC Highlights segment in the post game lobby, and will also be sponsoring the gold comparison graph in-game.

"It is a pleasure for us to collaborate with a global banking institution committed to innovation, digital transformation and providing the best possible services for younger generations." said Maximillian Schmidt, head of League of Legends esports EMEA, "We look forward to welcoming Santander to the LEC this Summer and working with them to provide all of our LEC fans with memorable and engaging content such as the Daily Highlights in our LEC Post Game Lobby."

The LEC returns this Friday, with the first week of the Summer Season, which just so happens to also be a Super Week of games.
