He met MrLego in the final.
Sam Bishop 4 mei 2017

DreamHack Austin took place this past weekend, and among the many tournaments taking place there was also the Hearthstone Grand Prix, a final which saw American player David "Shoop" Steinberg overcome all competition.

Going into the knockouts the majority of players were American, with seven out of the eight semi finalists being from the US, however, the final ended with a match up between Shoop and Australian Kelson "MrLego" Barber, where Shoop beat MrLego 3-1 to lift the trophy.

Shoop performed well throughout, registering a 3-1 win in the round of 16 and then back to back 3-0 victories leading up to the final, and his win was well-deserved, earning him $7,500 USD in prize money as well as 15 of those all-important Hearthstone Championship Tour points. Were you surprised that Shoop won?
