Tokido defeats Punk in Street Fighter V Evo final

It was a rather one-sided final.
Sam Bishop 17 juli 2017

Hajime 'Tokido' Taniguchi has beaten Victor 'Punk' Woodley in this year's Street Fighter V Evo competition, coming from the loser's bracket to do so.

Tokido used Akuma while Punk used Karin, and won the final 3-0, even fitting a taunt in for good measure. It's even more surprising he won against the 18-year-old Punk, who has won title after title in recent months, becoming one of the favourites going into the tournament.

Another young player who has also had a lot of success is Du "NuckleDu" Dang, who came joint fifth in the competition. None of the fighters will have time to dwell on the competition, though, as all roads now lead to the Capcom Cup later this year.
