PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to continue on its path towards world domination with another major esports appearance, after ESL confirmed that there will be a PUBG Invitational at Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice, with the action set to take place on the weekend of February 24-25, 2018.

Sixteen teams from around the world (three each from NA, Europe, and Asia, with the other seven set to earn their places via qualifiers starting on January 21 on ESL Play) will compete at the Spodek Arena for a share of the $50,000 prize pool.

ESL's VP of Pro Gaming, Michal 'Carmac' Blicharz noted that: "Previously adding PUBG to the agenda brought a lot of excitement to the arena and we feel that it will be a great addition to the IEM Expo."
