ESL has announced that it will integrate its competitive gaming technology and systems into the new Tournaments feature on PlayStation 4. This will make the process of finding and participating in ESL competitions much easier, and interactions can even be accessed through the ESL Play and PlayStation app.

"We're incredibly excited to be able to offer this seamlessly integrated solution for the most passionate esports fans. ESL's mission is to bring competitive gaming to fans around the world, and when doing so, to create an environment that allows them to fully focus on their gaming skills," said Managing Director of ESL Technology Marcel Menge. "In the partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment, we're going to host hundreds of weekly tournaments for players from any corner of the world. Anyone who wants to try their hand at competitive gaming, can now easily do so across a wide variety of titles."

This Tournaments feature will start their first major tournament with NBA 2K17, as the NBA season has just begun. Project Cars, Mortal Kombat X and more will all feature in the future as well, and since the integration supports 15 different languages, the competitions are expected to be worldwide. Is this accessibility something that can appeal to those who may not necessarily be that invested in esports?
