That's over seven times more than YouTube Gaming streams.

It's no secret that esports is incredibly popular on streaming platform Twitch, and now new information from market intelligence company Newzoo (as reported by The Esports Observer) reveals just how popular it has been already this year, as 232 million esports hours have been watched in Q1 of 2018.

We also get data for YouTube Gaming as well, which earned itself 32.8 million esports hours watched in Q1 - far less than its competitor. What's more is that in the total of streaming hours on both YouTube and Twitch, 11% of those were esports hours, and in terms of the top broadcasters, League of Legends developer Riot Games sits at the top of the table for both platforms.

Do you think Twitch will always stay above YouTube Gaming in terms of streaming?
