Sam Bishop 21 mei 2018

Esports organiser ESL has announced that they are hosting the European Qualifiers for the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Global Invitational 2018 (PGI), and that the finals will be held in Leicester's Haymarket Theatre from June 29 to July 1, seeing 20 teams compete in 15 matches across three days to earn one of three spots at the PGI 2018 main event.

The first phase of the qualifiers has already ended, and you can see the standings here, and the second phase is running right now, seeing 320 teams battle it out to see who will reach the offline qualifiers.

"We're honoured to present the first official PGI European qualifiers in the UK" said James Dean, Managing Director of ESL UK. "PGI is an absolute phenomenon and we are excited to execute an ambitious 80-player stage setup that befits the scale of the game!"

"We are thrilled to find the best PUBG squads in Europe to compete in Berlin at our first truly global esports undertaking, PGI 2018," added Alex Nam, Head of EMEA Business of PUBG Corp. "We can't wait for the community to be part this process with us at every step along the way."
