Gaming houses are relatively common in the world of esports, providing players with a place to train, and now Vexed Gaming has revealed plans for their own training facilities, although this won't just be for practice, as they plan on hosting scouting events; events for up-and-coming professionals; torurnaments; educational programs; open days; and more.
"We want to aid the professional development of the community," the announcement reads. "We want to educate people and allow them to find out what esports really is. Grass-roots esports truly is at the centre of everything we do at Vexed Gaming, and we intend to continue this with a proactive approach."
For more on the specific equipment they plan on using, head over to the announcement page, but this included Logitech peripherals, HP Omen PCs, and of course gaming chairs, headsets, and more. They've even provided some concept pictures on what it will look like, which you can see below, although these are rough plans and Vexed aren't ready to share photos right now.
"This is the first step to creating our home," the team adds. "An open office approach that will promote and encourage collaboration of innovation in the esports sector. It will be a place for our teams to practice, our creatives to create and for meetings to take place."
"A place that will allow new talent to grow in an environment specifically designed to get the most out of not just teams, but individuals. We will have the ability to help improve training plans, fitness and even dietary requirements, to bring the most out of a player's game."
"During the infancy of esports, the "gaming house" was a concept that allowed gamers to dedicate their time on their disciplines alongside their teammates. Esports has grown beyond that. Now, success requires a much more professional and focused approach. Esports is a career, so let's treat it like one."
Vexed also says they're focused on the work-life balance to get the best out of their players, and that they're well aware of mental fatigue in the esports industry. Players will therefore have time off at home between tournaments and training.
The location has yet to be revealed, but we do know it'll be in the Salford Quays area of Manchester. What do you think of these plans?
