Msdossary lifts the FIFA eWorld Cup

The new FIFA 18 world champ crowned at the O2 in London.

Throughout the competition, some 20 million players have tried their luck, with the best 32 assembling at the O2 in London this weekend to contest the finals of the FIFA eWorld Cup.

Of those 32 it finally came down to two players, with Saudi Arabian Mosaad "Msdossary" Aldossary taking on the silky skills of Stefano "StefanoPinna" Pinna in the finals. And it was Msdossary who won the tournament with a resounding 4-0 victory, in the process securing himself the $250k grand prize and, of course, the inaugural FIFA eWorld Cup itself (it used to be called the FIFA Interactive World Cup / FIWC).

"I've made my country proud by bringing home the trophy. This is my second event in the UK and it's my second win, so I think this is my second home. I'm strong on both consoles and I defended very well on both games. I deserved to get two clean sheets in both legs," Msdossary said after his win.

"It's an honour to be the first winner of the new trophy. Hopefully I can keep getting better and better."

This weekend spectators at the London-based event also got a look at FIFA 19, and we too had the opportunity to check out the upcoming next entry in EA's football sim series. Head this ball to find out more.
