British Esports Association recruits epic.LAN for competition help

For the British Esports Championship.
Sam Bishop 22 augustus 2018

Esports event organiser epic.LAN has just been chosen by the British Esports Association to take care of the tournament platform for the first British Esports Championships, aimed at students between 12 and 19 and starting on October 10 with games like League of Legends.

Custom developments and an in-house tournament platform are what epic.LAN is providing, as well as a service providing league operations support to the competition. "The team will run the practical elements of the tournament, allowing British Esports staff to focus their time on relationships with the teams instead of systems," the press release adds.

British Esports Association chair Andy Payne OBE said: "It's great to be partnering with a company with the pedigree of epic.LAN, who are very well-regarded and experienced in UK esports. We know we can rely on them to produce a brilliant tournament platform and look forward to seeing the British Esports Championships in action."

Jon Winkle, epic.LAN managing director, commented: "We're very excited to be involved in this stage of the British Esports Championships both as a software provider and hands-on partner delivering league operations support. Our platform has been written with our 15 years of tournament delivery experience in mind, it's designed to make the lives of esports staff as easy as possible so that they can focus on the people elements of delivering a tournament, rather than data entry."
