The team defeated Gambit Esports to take the championship.

The 2021 Valorant Champions Tour season has now concluded following the finale of the Champions tournament over the weekend. The event saw the best 16 teams around the world heading to Berlin, Germany to compete in a LAN environment for a share of a $1 million prize pool, over a 12 day period.

With the finale of that event now behind us, we now know who the victors of the tournament are, with Acend being the first VCT winners. Acend took the trophy by defeating Gambit Esports 3-2, in a competitive and close series. The victory has not only seen Acend dubbed as champion, but has seen the team heading home with $350,000 in prize money.

As for the who else took the podium positions at the tournament, Gambit Esports came second, and Team Liquid and Kru Esports came third and fourth respectively.

Now that the 2022 season has come to a close, we'll have to wait until February for the next season of the VCT to kick off and to see whether Acend can start its campaign to become back-to-back champions.
