Respawn recently released a short blog post detailing the plans, groups, and broadcast schedule for the Apex Legends Global Series Championship that is set to kick-off its group stages on May 22. In the blog post however, the developer also stated just how much of the following the Winter Circuit Playoffs managed to net, and it was a significant increase over previous events.
The Winter Circuit Playoffs managed to generate over 100,000 average viewers-per-minute and even garnered more than 50% more viewers than the previous most-watched competitive Apex Legends event, making it the most watched event in Apex history.
With the ALGS Championship set to take place soon, we'll have to see whether the Winter Circuit Playoffs can hold onto its record or whether it will be smashed out of the park by the most anticipated event in the competitive Apex calendar.
