Blizzard "really excited" to see Push affect Overwatch esports

The game mode in Overwatch 2 is part of the PvP offering, with PvE also being a core focus this time.

Overwatch 2 had its official reveal at BlizzCon this past week, and at the event we spoke with Executive Producer Chacko Sonny and Lead Writer Michael Chu about the various modes on offer, including PvP mode Push, which sees each team guide a robot called TW into enemy territory as far as possible.

"What I find really exciting about this is that the hero compositions, the groups that players will select, the characters they will select for this, may differ as a result of this being a symmetric mode," Sonny said.

"It's very fast-paced, there's tons of flanking routes in the Toronto map that we have, so I'm really excited to see how this plays out not just for our players and just playing it online, but also competitively in the esports [scene]."

With the Overwatch League being a big deal for Blizzard, having wrapped up two seasons already, this might have a drastic impact on the competitive scene.
