Clash Royale has been moving into esports with the Crown Championship Global Series, and now its back with the autumn version (or the Fall 2017 Crown Championship, as we should say), as announced on their website.
Phase One runs from August 16 to 20 and requires hopeful contestants to get 20 wins in the Crown Championship Challenge, in which losing three times means an elimination, the first entry being free. Getting a good record here, then, is key, and this is open to two more regions than last time, adding Southeast Asia and Rest of World (India, Africa, and Australia). There's even rewards in this phase for reaching win counts below the maximum of 20.
Phase two is bracket play from August 23 to 28, where anyone who accepts the invitation gets to play in single-elimination bracket tournaments, the matches being best of three and the top 12 players advancing from each region. Phase Three runs from September 5 to 7 after that, seeing these top 12 from each region, as well as four from the spring finals, taking part in a double elimination bracket, again with best of three matches, and these will be broadcast by Supercell.
After that, the top ten players (top eight from autumn, and top two from spring) will participate in a round robin event from September 12 to October 26, each player facing 18 matches against their opponent. This is then filtered to the top six players for a double elimination tournament, on-site at the Crown Championship studio. The winner then goes to the World Finals in December.
