The Dallas Fuel Overwatch League team has defeated the Shanghai Dragons Overwatch League team and taken the May Melee 2021 tournament. The team managed to land a spot in the event by making a run through the North American qualifiers, before heading into the first major tournament in the 2021 OWL calendar over the past weekend.
Dallas had to face all three of the other teams that qualified for the event to take home the victory, defeating the Florida Mayhem, Chengdu Hunters, and the Shanghai Dragons in the finale. By doing so, the Fuel has achieved its first major win in OWL history, after several disappointing past seasons.
The next tournament on the calendar is the June Joust, which is set to begin its qualifiers in a couple of weeks. The main event itself is scheduled to begin on June 11 at 3:30am BST / 4:30 am BST.
