Evil Geniuses are the LCS Spring Playoffs victors

The team beat out 100 Thieves to punch its ticket to MSI 2022.

After a couple of weeks of competition, the League of Legends Championship Series Spring Playoffs have officially come to a close. Pitting the top teams from the LCS against one another for the biggest share of a $200,000 prize pool, the teams were also fighting to claim the region's slot in the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational.

After a bunch of games, the grand final saw 100 Thieves taking on Evil Geniuses. For the most part, it seemed like 100 Thieves had the game in the bag, as the team was undefeated in the winner's bracket and had knocked both the higher-seeded Cloud9 and Team Liquid into the loser's bracket. However, in a shocking turn of events, after making a full run through the loser's bracket, it was Evil Geniuses who ended up defeating 100 Thieves 3-0 and taking the tournament and the MSI 2022 slot for themselves.

As for when MSI 2022 will start, the event is slated to begin on May 10, and will see each team (bar the LPL representative) competing in-person in South Korea.
