Eyedentity launched WEGL to move into esports

It includes a sizeable investment.

Eyedentity Entertainment has launched a new esports brand by the name of WEGL (World Esports Games and Leagues) in an attempt to enter the esports market, starting off in Korea before expanding into China and more.

WEGL is aiming for diversity in esports, and Eyedentity Entertainment had invested 50 billion won (roughly $44.59 million USD) into the business, with investments looking to discover and build teams and players. On top of this the company is also looking to invest in hardware infrastructures like stadiums as well.

CEO Guo Haibin said: "We establish a cooperation system with global game and esports companies and will make an effort to be able to leading role in the rapidly growing esports market. I plan to process a sustainable esports business with endeavoring to discover partner companies."
