Forge of Champions LoL competition revealed for UK

It's part of a long-term three-year plan.
Sam Bishop 5 juni 2018

Riot Games, developer for League of Legends, has revealed a new partnership with tournament organiser LVP to deliver a brand new tournament structure to the UK, called Forge of Champions. This is Riot's biggest commitment to UK esports ever, with a $50,000 prize pool and two spots at the EU Masters up for grabs. Registration for the competition is open here, but there are only 64 spots available for new teams.

Forge of Champions was revealed to professional teams in the UK back in March, where they were given a look at the league and asked for feedback, and now Riot and LVP can reveal the first stage of their three-year plan to progress and develop UK League of Legends.

LVP has experienced success in Spain already with the League of Legends Superliga and Spanish Cup, and this expansion into the UK comes with a dedicated UK-based studio to host the competition as well.

"When we set up the UK office we had a clear vision in mind; to create the highest level of competition and a source of entertainment for every gamer in the UK, and we needed a partner who could help us realise this vision." said Mo Fadl, Head of UK Esports for Riot Games. "LVP has a brilliant reputation amongst teams and the community in Spain and we want to bring that success to the UK. They have been a vital partner for developing Forge of Champions. Naturally, we see this as just that start of our vision for the UK. We know that to build something meaningful will take time and work and we want the players and the community to continue working with us so we can improve."

These 64 new teams will compete against the top eight pro teams from the former premiership, and if you think you have what it takes to compete, why not register?
