IEM Katowice StarCraft II tournament won by soO

Serral fell in the quarter-finals to the eventual winner, who then had to face Stats in the grand final of the Polish event.

At the Intel Extreme Masters event in Katowice, Poland we saw Astralis become the Major champions of CS:GO, but another champion was also crowned at the event, as Eo 'soO' Yoon Soo was the StarCraft II winner earning the lion's share of the $400,000 USD prize pool.

In the grand final soO faced Kim 'Stats' Dae Yeob, and while soO has often finished second place (nine times in fact) in premier StarCraft II events, this resulted in a 4-2 win and a trophy for him.

It wasn't to be for European players though, as many were defeated early on, and world champion from BlizzCon Joona 'Serral' Sotala fell to soO himself in the quarter-finals.

Are you glad to see soO lift the trophy?
