Following Golden Guardians' departure from the LCS, things weren't looking good for the organisation. Now, it seems things have gone from bad to worse, as Golden Guardians may have disappeared completely off the radar.
As reported by eSports.gg, the organisations Twitter/X page no longer seems to exist, and the website has been taken down, too. "With Riot Games' decision to shift the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) from a 10-team league to an eight-team league, we have made the difficult decision that the Golden Guardians will no longer compete in the LCS. Riot Games has been an incredible partner since we joined the LCS in 2018, and we know there are exciting times ahead for the sport," reads a message on the site.
"We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our fans, players and staff for their dedication over the last five years. It is because of the hard work and commitment of our players, coaches and staff, and the incredible support of our fans, that the Golden Guardians were able to achieve so much during this exciting time."
After being founded in November 2017, it does seem a sad state of affairs that the Golden Guardians are now no longer around, with their existence pretty much wiped away besides their YouTube and Discord accounts.
Do you think it's over for Golden Guardians?
