Kellogg's splits with the Overwatch League

It's the first company to publicly announce that it is no longer sponsoring the Activision Blizzard esports league.

In the wake of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit that alleged the company to have a "frat boy culture" where it frequently discriminated and harassed female employees, the cereal brand Kellogg's has now formally announced that it is cutting ties with the Overwatch League.

There have been several rumours and reports that major sponsors of both Activision Blizzard leagues (Call of Duty League and the OWL) are re-evaluating their partnerships and sponsorships, but Kellogg's is the first to officially announce that it is splitting with the league, in a statement provided to Polygon.

"We find these allegations troubling and inconsistent with our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion," said Kellogg's spokesperson Kris Bahner to Polygon. "While Activision Blizzard has announced plans to address the challenging issues it faces, we will not be moving forward with any new programs this year, but will continue to review progress made against their plans."

Several other major brands, including Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, and State Farm have all temporarily excluded their branding from being shown on Activision's Blizzard's league's broadcasts, but as The Esports Observer reports, are still maintaining their relationships with the company for the time being.
