Viego and Gwen will be unavailable, however.

Riot Games has revealed that the League of Legends Mid Season Invitational will in fact be played on patch 11.9, meaning not the latest patch but the one set to follow it. However, whilst latest Legend Gwen and recent addition Viego will technically be in the game, neither will be playable for the tournament that is still set to take place in Iceland.

The Twitter post that revealed the information stated, "#MSI2021 is heating up and just in case you're curious, the tournament will be played on patch 11.9!", before continuing saying, "And for those of you asking... Viego and Gwen will be unavailable for #MSI2021."

The Mid Season Invitational is a LAN that pits the current top 12 teams from around the globe against each other for competitive points and a cash prize. This year's tournament is still expected to take place between May 6 and May 22 in Reykjavik, Iceland, despite the pandemic and a recent volcanic eruption. When the tournament kicks off, you can catch the action here.
