Esports broadcaster Let's Play Live (LPL) has revealed that they've acquired CyberGamer, a subscription-based website dedicated to competitive gaming, in a deal that was completed last month.
LPL wanted to make clear that CyberGamer users will still be able to use it for what it's good for - ladders, forums, and more - with the acquisition, and that it will improve even more in the future. CyberGamer founder Jeremy Klaosen is even joining LPL as the new Head of Platform.
LPL Director Duane Mutu says: "We are delighted that Jeremy has joined the team and look forward to expanding on the phenomenal job he and James and their team have done to date. CyberGamer has a rich legacy in ANZ esports and we have deep respect for their achievements and community focus."
Grassroots is a priority for LPL, according to the announcement, hence why online pro tournaments are important. That's not all though, as LPL also hint at "a number of new Australian partnerships" this year.
