Melee pro Hungrybox calls out a "certain company"

He had some choice words at Smash 'N' Splash 3.

Despite its age, Super Smash Bros. Melee has an avid esports following still, and Melee pro Juan 'Hungrybox' Debiedma recently spoke at Smash 'N' Splash 3 about the community (via NeoGAF user Makonero), and he had some choice words regarding the community's spirit and the lack of support he thinks it receives.

"We came here from the gutter ourselves, we can say whatever the hell we want. We had no help," he said when questioned about his earlier swearing on stage. "We ain't had no help from any person. We came here to ourselves and look at us, we're still having 1,500 people at a damn waterpark in Wisconsin. Who are we? Come on now. A certain company that acknowledges us but refuses to push us - I hope you're listening right now because I want you to hear this, I want you to hear the amount of people who support this league, the amount of people who want this to be a lifestyle to people. This is not just a video game, this is a lifestyle, alright? This game has been my escape for over a decade from whatever else life offers."
