MvC: Infinite dropped from Capcom Pro Tour competition

This comes a week after it's removal from Evo.
Sam Bishop 12 februari 2018

Last week we found out that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite would not be among the games featured at the Evo Championship Series fighting game event this year, and now there's more bad news for the game, as a Capcom representative has confirmed to Kotaku that the game won't be featured in the Capcom Pro Tour competition either.

This comes after an announcement of the first two stops of the Pro Tour made no mention of the game, and instead the focus will be exclusively on Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, which is by far the more popular game anyway. These two stops will be at the Final Round and NorCal Regionals events, taking place on March 16 and March 30 respectively.

With both Evo and the Capcom Pro Tour dropping MvC: Infinite, it seems as if its days in the esports space could be very much numbered, and that we may well have to make do with other games like Street Fighter V instead. Are you sad to see it go?
