Nintendo announces "Free for All" Smash Ultimate competition

There is one caveat, however, as it is limited to characters and stages from Smash 4.
Kieran Harris 23 juli 2020

Nintendo has announced a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament known as "Free for All", which is due to commence July 14. The competition is a celebration of Smash 4, as only characters, stages, and items originaitng from the title are eligible to be used. This sadly means though that beloved newcomers, such as Isabelle, Ridley, and King K. Rool have not made the cut.

We're a big fan of this approach towards the competition as it helps to shine a spotlight on particular eras of the series' past. We'd like to see similar efforts from Nintendo in future - perhaps even a Smash tournament centered exclusively on original N64 stages and characters.

Will you be participating over the weekend?
