OverActive Media plans to build new esports arena in Toronto

The 7,000 - 10,000 capacity arena will be situated in Exhibition Place, Toronto.

OverActive Media is set to provide a shot in the arm for Toronto's flourishing esports scene as it plans to construct a 7,000 - 10,000 seat esports area. The company has already invested heavily in the industry, as it owns teams Toronto Defiant, Toronto Ultra, and MAD Lions.

The new arena is set to be situated in Exhibition Place in Toronto and will be adjacent to BMO Field and Hotel X Toronto. We can see Hotel X especially being a popular destination for fans to stay over the night whilst major games are underway within the arena.

OverActive Media has also reportedly enlisted Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment vice president Bob Hunt to assist with the project. Hunt has been taken on to liaise with government officials on the venue and has had experience assisting the development of projects, such as B.C Place Stadium, Rogers Centre, and BMO Field.

We're still unsure when this arena will be constructed, but we are certain it will provide a boom to the esports scene in Toronto and we can't wait to watch competing teams lock horns here.

Thanks, ESPN.
