The parent company behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, KRAFTON has invested £16 million in Indian esports company NODWIN Gaming. As Esports Insider reports, the investment is expected to further accelerate the esports company's development in the South Asia, Middle East, and African regions.
The investment is looking to expand the development of these regions by focussing NODWIN's efforts on community management and on producing broadcasts in local languages, rather than only producing broadcasts in English.
"KRAFTON is excited to partner with NODWIN Gaming to help foster the promising esports ecosystem and engage with our fans and players in India," said Krafton CEO Changhan Kim. "Taking the momentum from this partnership, we will explore additional investment opportunities in the region to uphold our commitment and dedication in cultivating the local video game, esports, entertainment, and tech industries."
KRAFTON will also gain a seat on the NODWIN board, but will not see any further changes to the board members already on hand. With an investment of this degree, we will have to see how NODWIN can further engage regional audiences with these localised broadcasts.

Thanks, Esports Insider.
