Race of Champions to hold its first esports event

Sim racing fans across the globe have been invited to participate.

Race of Champions has announced that it would be holding its debut virtual event on 28 June. The event will see a star-studded list of participants, with Stoffel Vandoorne and Petter Solberg already revealed to be taking part.

Races will be played within Assetto Corsa and will use virtual versions of Gran Canaria and Wembley tracks, which have been used previously in the real-life competition.

An open invite has been extended to sim racers across the globe. To be eligible, fans must register before 25 June and set a hotlap on the ROC Mexico track. The best two performing racers will then have the opportunity to compete against former eROC champions James Baldwin and Enzo Bonito during the Virtual ROC livestream. The winner of this will then progress into the main event.
