The many LoL leagues will be split into three groups.

As we are rapidly approaching the next Mid Season Invitational for League of Legends (set to start on May 6), Riot has recently released an article detailing the group draw for the tournament, alongside showing a prizing update for the event.

The three groups will see the respective League of Legends pro leagues split into the following:

  • Group A Teams: LPL, VCS, LCL, LCO
  • Group B Teams: LEC, PCS, TCL, CBLOL
  • Group C Teams: LCK, LCS, LLA, LJL

The team who qualifies for each region will be the one with the best regular season playoff record. Each team is then set to meet in Reykjavik, Iceland for the tournament.

In terms of prizing, the winning region for this year's MSI will also receive another regional slot at Worlds later this year. Secondly, after the MSI event has concluded, global power rankings will be calculated, and the league that takes the top spot (assuming they didn't also win the MSI) will also get an additional spot at Worlds.

As mentioned above, the Mid Season Invitational is set to start on May 6, and will run until May 23. The schedule and broadcast information will be detailed in late April.
