The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team has just revealed that they're moving into the world of competitive gaming by establishing their very own esports team to "compete across multiple racing platforms and championships," partnering with organisation Veloce Esports to manage the new roster.
If you're wondering, this team will compete in the F1 Esports Series, which has its Pro-Draft starting this week in the UK with a live show in London next Monday. The goal of this roster is to "target championship success and global engagement across a number of online gaming tournaments," and they'll train, compete, and stream with Veloce at their HQ in London, competing in racing titles as well as Fortnite.
Alfa Romeo Sauber's eSports team will train, compete and live stream in partnership with Veloce, whose HQ is in Central London. Gamers will compete on the leading racing titles, as well as the world's highest grossing game, Fortnite.

This is far from the first time racing and F1 has moved into the space, as we recently got word that McLaren is launching another esports competition called Shadow Project, following on from the success of World's Fastest Gamer last year.
