Team Secret edge ESL One Hamburg final

Vici Gaming runs Secret close, but not close enough.
Mike Holmes 29 oktober 2018

If you were in Hamburg to catch the ESL One final between Team Secret and Vici Gaming this weekend you'd have caught a stellar match between two evenly balanced Dota 2 teams. It was Secret's day to celebrate, however, after the team edged out Vici in a 3-2 match that went down to the wire.

Team Secret opened with a win, but then fell behind 1-2. This is a team that seems to revel in adversity though, and just like they had previously when playing themselves back out of the loser's bracket and into the final, Secret was able to turn the tables and push for what must have been a satisfying win, capitalising on an over-extension by Vici in the deciding match to build enough momentum to take the overall win.

The winners get to split a prize of $125k, but the occasion will have been especially sweet for Secret's Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng, with the mid-laner named the Mercedes Benz MVP, an award that bagged him a new motor in the process.
