Team Vitality lift first CS:GO title at DreamHack Atlanta

The French squad has calmed the doubters.

There were some question marks raised over Team Vitality's CS:GO team when it emerged that their coach was leaving the team, but now the fears have been calmed a little since the roster has won their first title already at the DreamHack Open Atlanta.

They started off a bit shaky, losing their first match in Group B to Ghost Gaming 16-12, but after wins against Rogue and Fragsters (2-0 each) they went on to face CompLexity, who they beat 2-1. In the final they were matched against Luminosity, but they dominated 16-4 and 16-6 on Mirage and Overpass respectively, earning themselves the title.

It's a good start for this highly-anticipated team full of French talent, including ex-G2 players Dan 'apEX' Madesclaire and Nathan 'NBK' Schmitt, although 18-year-old Mathieu 'ZywOo' Herbaut proved himself in Atlanta, after being one to watch on the squad.

Can Vitality keep this up moving forwards?
